Hi, I'm Ben!

I'm a sound designer from Houston, Texas pursuing degrees in Sustainability Studies and Arts + Entertainment Technologies at the University of Texas at Austin.

About Me:

I'm a creative specializing in audio, sustainability, and public policy. I'm also a strong believer in the power of digital media to communicate and tell stories.

Throughout college, I've taken an interest in critical minerals policy and e-waste reduction. At Environment Texas, I covered issues surrounding sustainable housing development, energy policy, and Right to Repair efforts across the state. Likewise, my Senior Capstone project for the Sustainability Studies program focused on Biden-era lithium mine proposals and the potential environmental impacts of on-shoring mineral extraction.

While interning with KXAN's marketing team, I wrote pitches, filmed on set and in the field, and edited promotional content in AfterEffects and Premiere. Among these promos were several "Back To School" segments highlighting the station's morning team, the KXAN News Podcast, and several "KXAN Investigates" promos that aired alongside the station's 2024 Paris Olympics coverage.

I’ve worked on several game development projects including Stellar Larceny, (a zero-gravity puzzle-platformer now available on Steam!) and Anne & Mary’s Hunt for Booty (a 2D brawler inspired by the real-life pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read). In addition to audio implementation using C# and Blueprints, I've also dabbled with MaxMSP, SuperCollider, and Touchdesigner for real-time video and audio installations.
